I received the cake on Wednesday, thanks. I somehow managed to hold out from eating any until last night but I absolutely loved the 2 big slices I had. The texture is great but the rum blend and after taste is truly the work of a gourmet rumelier, big up yourself for that! Thanks again, I will certainly be ordering and trying my best with the Guess Where? competitions in future.

The verdict is in… she ate one entire Caymanas cake this afternoon and was raving how moist and tasty it is. I was hoping she'd save the second cake to share with a friend who will be visiting for the weekend - she plans to secure it until after the friend leaves! All of this time, I thought I'd raised a kind daughter! She loved the DVD that came with the cake as well. A taste of home... Needless to say, we'll be your regular customers!

What wonderful cakes! Thank you so much. Ann & I shared the Golden Mellow cake with some colleagues and the verdict is unanimous – absolutely bloody delicious. In fact the sort of cake I could commit murder for. The Chocolate one remains unopened at present (on my desk at work) until I have finished the large tender and have some calories spare in my diet regime!
I love the packaging too. Really good design. Eye-catching, screams high production and quality. A real ‘top-end gift’ feel to it.

I like the fact that you have made the effort to reduce the packaging. I think the balance is right – enough to have as a presentation gift, but not overly packaged. The golden mellow was nice. I will probably order a different one later.

Last year we went to Barbados for our honeymoon and tried it in a restaurant and bought one at the airport to bring back. This one is like the one we had at the restaurant. Really pleased.

I received my rum cake and enjoyed it. If I compare it with Tortuga`s version, I wondered if you had used the same make of rum? And I found your cake was of a slightly lighter consistency and possibly a little more moist. I am obviously more familiar with Tortuga, so probably acquired a taste for it over time. However that does not detract from the quality of your rum cake and I will certainly be ordering again and my sister has also expressed an interest. Hope the business continues to grow.

...I have to say I was not expecting it to be so moist and rummy so I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, I think it tastes better than the ones I have had in Jamaica - much moister and rummier and that is the key because as you know the sponge dries out easily.... ...Once, again many thanks for the cake and it is absolutely delicious....

I waited until Tuesday evening to try some, so it had been sealed for about a week at room temperature in my kitchen - it's delicious! Really moist, great intense taste and consistency. Think it's safe to say you've nailed the recipe on that one, can't see how it could be better. My wife has been eating it as well over the last couple of evenings, she only ever seems to normally like cheesecake and fudge so it must be good!

We took one of the cakes to our family last night and had it with rum ice-cream and it is completely delicious! Thank you for concocting this marvellous delight. At the very first mouthful I was transported straight back to Jamaica. I'm copying this to my friend, with heartfelt thanks, as it was he who send round a notice about you, and also to a couple of other Jamaica-related friends.
I'll DEFINITELY be ordering more. It will make great Christmas presents, and I'll be sure to order a large one for our own household.

...well done the cake arrived on Thursday and what a surprise, it was FAB thank you so much, it is so light and just a hint of rum, which suits me as I am not a rum drinker, I gave some to friends who were with me when it arrived and they agreed it was wonderful. I have also given your website to a friend who was in Ja., for a long time so hope she gets in touch with you.
I will certainly be ordering some more especially the coconut one. Tell me can I freeze it once I've opened it as it is so rich and light I don't think we should eat it all at once!!!!
By the way I have had more fun looking up the Priory website and seeing my kids on it and have told them to try and look too...

I wish you all the best in promoting the cakes and with the trend in cake-eating at the moment, I don’t see how these could fail – they really are so delicious. What got me hooked was the perfect balance of soft, spongy moistness, the mild sweetness and the tang of rum; and all as light as a feather. Yum!

Yes I picked up the cakes on Saturday morning and my boyfriend and I had the mellow cake for Sunday tea and last night, me and my mum had the chocolate rum cake.

I think it’s fair to say that the approval rating was very high indeed. Personally I had the first slice as I had to go to a meeting, only to realize that they probably thought I was an early morning rum drinker! Everyone who ate some enjoyed it. Comments were on the smell through to amazement at the lightness of it. Top accolade came from my Jamaican team member Audrey, who said she’d be telling her Mum to try and emulate that!

Thank you for sending the rum cake so promptly! It was excellent!! Both my husband and I have travelled extensively in the Caribbean over the years and visited several islands (and have tried rum cake!) - but not the Caymans. The DVD you sent us was interesting, particularly seeing how the conch is prepared. We have had conch fritters before and did not know you can have it that way. I think we will look seriously at Grand Cayman for our next Caribbean holiday - if we don't spend the money on rum cakes of course!
